wh-foil         The new Rotary Year will bring significant changes to the process and opportunities for accessing grants from the Rotary Foundation. To take advantage of these opportunities, clubs will need to start preparing now. One requirement of involvement in Foundation Grants (Community Grants or Global Grants) will be for at least two members of each club to participate in a Grants Management Seminars.    (Excerpted from C Johnson story District newsletter)

To accommodate a variety of times and schedules, there will be three seminars from which to choose.  Times and locations are:

               Wednesday, March 20        4-8pm                     Portsmouth Country Club

               Saturday, March 30            8-12 noon                Westbrook Middle School

               Friday, May 16                    9-1pm                      Spruce Point Inn, Boothbay Harbor

More than two members may attend from any club, but it is recommended that Presidents-elect, Foundation Chairs, or any Rotarian actively involved in the grants attend.  Cost is $10 per person.

Topics that will be covered include:

          * How to design a project

           * Applying for and implementing a project

           * Oversight and reporting (managing funds and required record keeping)

           * Qualification process

There are a number of new opportunities offered by the new grants process, including more funding for Community Grants.  Be sure your club is ready - and qualified!
